This unfortunately means no Champions league matches on HBO Max unless paying £30 a month for a TNT subscription. This on top of my Sky subscription ever increasing is a bit to much

Given how much they fork out to UEFA for broadcast rights, I strongly suspect that Warner Bros Discovery Ltd would rather prefer viewers to be paying ; )

I got news for you even if you had TNT sport  subscription either with Sky or  direct with HBO max you will only be able to watch  Champions league football ball on TNT sport for the rest on this season and the next. Because as from Autumn 2027 when that season starts TNT sports will no longer have the rights to show Champions league they have been bought by Paramount plus and though at present the Paramount plus only has entertainment at basic subscription of £4,99 I doubt when they start showing Champions league that subscription will not allow viewing of it, and like Discovery plus and now HBO max there will probably be a extra charge to watch it Not sure how much that will be at the moment. True  Prime Vidio show Champion league on there there subscription without extra cost. But that is only one match week on a Tuesday, not the amount that TNT sports show I would very much doubt if you would get that amount  Champion / Europer league for £4,99 a month.

@DaveDrizen This may change yet again once paramount's takeover of tnt sports is complete the rights will most probably stay where there are just under a different name

Hope fully that will be the case to pay three different subscription for football is getting ridiculous. However not sure even the name will change as Warner will own paramount plus who have right therefore as paramount plus owners warners actully own the rights. So they might decide to keep out of champions league on tnt sport and HBO max. They might e en just take all of paramout plus content and put on HBO max and close the paramount plus service.

That would certainly be my choice if I was in charge. The Paramount+ app is years behind other streaming apps in quality, stabilty and features, and certainly it's worse that the HBO Max app. If of the two, HBO Max was closed and Paramount+ remained, that would be unjust.

If it gets completed. The UK are now doing some antitrust investigation.

I can't see that happening  Warner are taking over Paramount if I right in thinking. HBO max  being  Warner app I think is more likely to survive than Paramount, they may even keep Paramount in some markets and close in others like they have done with Eurosport that merged with TNT sport in the uk.

No it's the other way around, Paramount is taking over Warner.

Skipping the interim reply, I'm fully aware that it's Paramount taking over Warner. That's mainly why I wrote what I wrote. The bigger company with the far worse app will probably want to keep that far worse app, and ditch the much better app. It'll be a massive backwards step.

Re: TNT Sports via HBO Max

I don't know who is saying TNT should not have been free but, in common with many subscribers, I too was able to watch it free through the Discovery app - Sky even walked me through how to set it up.

Sadly not now available even though Sky help man on the phone said it should be available. Seems like a breach of contract

Re: TNT Sports via HBO Max

Like many on here, I watched Premiership rugby on TNT via Discovery Plus. Very disappointed with Sky, as I too was told by them that I would still have access to it with the changeover to HBO. Quite frankly, it's a disgrace. I'm not prepared to pay for TNT as I would only watch the rugby.

Re: TNT Sports via HBO Max

If you have a smart TV, download the hbo app (on the tv not in sky) and log in with you sky details and see if that works.
