Streaming lags behind live tv

Recently when watching live sport and streaming to tablet when connected to sky q box at home the stream is now prob 1 minute behind the live action.

Always used to be in real time when connected to the q box (appreciate there is normally a lag when streaming when not connected to the q box).

So now have to turn off any goal

alerts on various apps on phone/tablet, otherwise it spoils the game.

Had this started happening to anyone else recently (apologies if this question has already been asked had a look through recent posts and couldn't find one).

There has always been a bit of lag but I agree that the streaming to my tablet seems a lot further behind the live channel on TV in recent weeks - not sure if it is due to any change or not.

I wasn't sure if it was just one channel but have noticed it on a couple now  - today I noticed it on F1 where I was watching on TV and switched over to my tablet.

Agree always been a small lag, maybe 5-10 seconds, will see later when football is on but think it is at least a minute now.

Ok, currently watching Che vs W Ham on tablet connected to sky q box and it is 1min 30secs behind,  annoying.

@shep6 If you have multi screen and are on the same network as your Sky Q box then record the programme you want to watch 'live'. Start watching the recording on your tablet or phone and fast forward to the last recorded section. You'll find that you are only about 9 seconds behind the actual live match.

Hope that helps.

Re: Streaming lags behind live tv

Just tried it on my system and my tablet is only 4 seconds behind the live match.

Re: Streaming lags behind live tv

@Tomthecattywas that 4 secs behind just watching on tablet normally or watching it on via a recording as you suggested above?

4 seconds behind the live match on my main TV using the recording method.
