Soundbox turn on automatically with Q

I had my soundbox set up so when I press to turn on my Q box my sound box automatically turns on as well. I have just got a new TV and had to pair my remote to the new TV. Since doing this my soundbox no longer turns on automatically and I have to press the power button on the top of the soundbox to turn this on. Does anyone one know how I can get the soundbox to turn on automatically when the Q box is turned on?

hi @Mikey106 

 

you probably need to set the CEC control to on on your TV's HDMI settings

 

The CEC control can be called various things according to the manufacturer - Viera link forPanasonic & I think Bravia Sync on Sony

I had the same issue when I disconnected my TV, Sky Q box and Sky Devialet speaker  and moved them to another room. 
When I connected everything back up in the other room, I had to switch each of them on independently like you described.
Turns out I needed to use the Sky HDMI lead (pink and black ends) to connect the speaker to the Sky Q box. 
I had been using another standard HDMI lead but when I replaced it with the Sky one (same ports) it worked 😀

That should make no difference. Every hdmi lead has the wire which carries CEC comms.

It shouldn't but it did....

To test it I just put the old

lead back and it stopped working again. 

Same ports, only thing I changed was the HDMI lead. Go figure as they say across the pond....

Bizarre. Cable must be faulty. Can't believe they would have left a wire out.
