Sky Q mini box recordings picture becomes pixelated

This has happened on and off for years. Used to be bad on ITV but now on Sky/BBC and 4 downloads. During a recording, the picture breaks up and becomes pixelated, sometimes losing sound when the picture returns. This does not happen on the main box downstairs, only on the mini box upstairs. Tried software update on the mini box but no success.

Wifi signal issues between the two boxes most likely, I'd have thought since they're playing back the same physical recording off the main box' hard disk.
