Yeah engineer won't be able to do anything. It's the channel. Fact that the PL channel works with Atmos proves that. Odd that the support teams have said they aren't aware of issue as a sky staff member has already posted in this forum to say they are aware.
As suspected nothing they can do here. However his boss also came round later so I think this will now be escalated with the Sky so hopefully they'll fix it shortly.
The engineer has left software bit rate issues nothing he can do as we thought. For the time being I will give UHD a 10 second pause to stop the sound freeze. Interestingly whilst the engineer was here watched live tennis from Abu Dhabi no issues. So it appears iny case it is just live football in the u.k. There is no problem with the sky q box my TV or any of my hardware or cabling etc. this is a software issue which Sky needs to fix. In the meantime time the live UHD service we are paying for is not fit for purpose .
I believe the resin there was no stuttering with the tennis is because it's not getting broadcast in Dolby Atmos, it's only main event UHD / Dolby Atmos
that is a problem, not all main event UHD broadcasts are in Dolby Atmos sound.
Fingers crossed then that a fix has been put in and it's now been sorted.
weirdly when I turned box on yesterday (from standby) the box had reverted back to 1080i instead of 2160p. No idea why that was unless sky did something in background. Did anyone else have that? If not then must have just been a bug.
