Software Updates

I am a little confused

I have a Sky Q box.

I know software updates are meant to happen automatically when in standby and usually in the early hours of the morning,

I decided to do a manual software update. I went into Settings, System Info, Software Version,

Set Up. I then started Software Update. After about 20 minutes said software update successful and Sky Q box will complete installation when next in standby.

I put it in standby, blue flashing circle and all done in a few minutes I then started up Sky Q box. Once again I went into Settings, System

Info, Software Version, Set Up and software update started all over again, Is this normal.
Finally I noticed Software Version seems to remain the same starting 0330 and finishing letter L.

hi @middlesex1993

It can be confusing but, unfortunately,  the box will give you the option to update the sofware even when your software is up to date.

You cannot tell from this option whether your box is up to date or not.

As @Daniel0210  says Q330 is the latest version

Re: Software Updates

Thank you for those replies and much appreciated.

I therefore assume that what I have described is normal. Is that correct?

It is a shame that it does not say your software is up to date.

What isn't clear is why you decided to do a manual update in the first place?

Re: Software Updates

  • To be honest. The only reason I did a manual software update was because a friend told me about it. I did not know you could do these manual software updates. I just wanted to make sure my Sky Q box was updating automatically.

i just think it would be so useful if there was a setting to simply say software is up to date.

i assume these software updates only happen occasionally.

By the way. I am getting some replies in duplicate for some reason .
