Software Error

Sky in a loop.

 

Software error - we click reboot

Sky logo appears

Then it says its doing a software update

But it stops asks to press 7 and 9 on remote nothing happens we click continue

Its says software error again.

 

Have turned off

Unplugged

 

Still the same

Can you give the steps here a try?

 

I think you might as well skip straight to the recovery procedure (step 3):

 

Restart your Sky Q box

 

  1. Switch the Sky Q box off at the mains.
  2. Hold down the standby button on the front of the box.
  3. Keep holding the standby button, then switch the box back on at the mains.
  4. Keep the standby button held down until you see alternating red and amber lights on the front of the box. This will start a software update.

If the lights don't show after 30 seconds, try the above steps again.

 

If it doesn't work after that, you should be able to request a new box from that same workflow.
