That's streaming for you. Streaming content over the internet will always have a bigger delay that broadcasting via DTT or satellite.

There is technology which is reducing the broadcasting delay on streaming but there will always be a delay.

Perhaps disabling notifications on your phone whilst watching football is the solution.

As previously mentioned thats just wrong if you are using a streaming based service, thats just the way the technology works.

@Brian1220  There will always be a lag with streamiung, it's down to infrastructure.  Regardless of how wrong you feel it is thats fact.

Perhaps streaming TV isn't for you?

@Brian1220   There is also delay in  satellite transmissions getting from the ground to approx 46000 miles & back.

PS: You do know this is s Customer help customer community?  Members of he public can and will reply to your posts whether you like the replies or not.  Cancelling with Sky isn't going to affect other customers

PS you also posted this in the Sky Go section (post now moved) which is why we have mentioned streaming, you didn't mention Sky Q until now.

Sky Go is an app that also relies on streaming if not connected to a Q box.

Re: Soccer

If you are watching via a broadcast channel in the EPG on Sky Q there shouldn't be anywhere near a minute's delay.

How were you watching? Via the Discovery+ app, or via a broadcast channel with a channel number?

@Brian1220

And, as you're probably aware, coverage on a mini box will be a second or two behind the main box.

Hi @Brian1220   You do know that you are only talking to other customers. It will interesting to know what Sky say when you explain that you are cancelling because another customer made a comment.

@Brian1220

That won't necessarily get your subscription cancelled. The latest T’s and C’s explicitly state you can’t cancel when still in a minimum term deal unless Sky agree. (If they agree you’ll have to pay the remainder of your discounted term in one single payment).
