Skylink satellite service

Hi all, I have skylink installed for my internet connection. I’ve connected it to skyQ multiple times but it keeps losing the connection (usually within minutes). Can anyone advise on whether these two technologies are compatible as I’ve cancelled the BT broadband and will need to contact BT to tell them I’ve changed my mind if I'm ever going to use my full sky service and mini box.
