SkyQ box keeps losing network and when we reinstall it is finding our old router name or a neighbour

SkyQ box keeps losing network and when we reinstall it is finding our old router name or a neighbours and the Apps won't connect.

We contacted BT our broadband provider and they said it was the sky box at fault

Yes, other providers do like pointing the finger elsewhere.

 

However, as a non-Sky ISP the box will only connect over 2.4GHz.  It's usually best to set up a dedicated SSID on the BT router (if it's capable).  Ensure any smart modes and steering are disabled.

 

Perform a network reset on the Q box and connect using the WPS button if you can.

do it with the minis and any boosters switched off and see if you then get your current router SSID showing
