For the last few days, the Radioplayer App has started showing a black screen after some time listening to a station.
I wonder if it's just me, or whether others have seen this new behaviour?
I've not checked whether it's always the same amount of time after selecting the channel before the screen goes black. I'd guess it's between 30 minutes and 2 hours. It's quite annoying as the "now playing" info shown on the screen can be interesting.
I haven't changed any settings on the SkyQ box or the TV. The TV hasn't had an update - it doesn't have an internet connection. It's been working normally since I got the SkyQ box ~18 months ago.
I haven't checked whether any other apps now behave in the same way.

It seems to have stopped happening. I didn't do anything to fix it. I didn't even turn the SkyQ box off and on again.

Re: SkyQ Radioplayer App - Black screen timer?
Just to clarify, the sound continues to work when the black screen is shown

Re: SkyQ Radioplayer App - Black screen timer?
I cannot find anything definitive online, I suspect it's either an app bug or is working correctly and a screensaver is kicking in to prevent screen burn from prolonged listening.
Could be a TV screen power setting I guess, although sounds unlikely based on your initial post as it would have happened from the start.
Either way, I don't think it is related to the Q box itself.

Thanks for taking the time to reply:

Me too. If it's the latter then there must have been a silent app update recently. I know there's no point asking Radioplayer support because they have ignored a previous question (and a reminder) from me when the last update changed behaviour in a way that confused me.

It's not that. I've had this TV for about 10 years and I've never seen it do it for any signal source before now. For example, playing a radio station from the skyQ TV guide doesn't do it.
The main reason it's annoying is because the only way I can get the screen back is to press the home button, then go through 20+ key presses on the remote to navigate down to apps and then down / across to the Radioplayer app. It wouldn't be so annoying if the 'backup' button restored the screen.
