Sky tv upgrade for VIP

I am a sky Diamond member, I have SkyQ and a mini box and previously had Sky sports but stopped that went my daughter moved out.  I've also had Sky broadband in my previous home but I've had to go with Seethelight (their sister company) because Sky doesn't cover my new build.

I would like to now upgrade to include F1, I rang yesterday to upgrade but I've been told my bill will now be over £110.

My daughter have also got the complete Sky package and pays just over £70.

Does anyone know why Sky seem to penalise loyal customer of over 23 years?

Are you 'in contract' or without discounts?

Best prices are usually when agreeing a minimum term.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

Re: Sky tv upgrade for VIP

I renewed my contract last year as my grandson came to live with and he wanted a mini box in his room!

a few people have told me to cancel my membership then join again a while later as they will give me a discount but I'm unable to do it because of my contract!

There should be no problem adding  somthing to you package  with discount even though have  a present minimum term with your other items. I was on minimum term until the end of this year but when I phoned to cancel somthing in my package that was  only monthly, they also upgraded the some of rest of my package with further discount on a new 2 year new minimum term. And when again rang them a month later to cancel some items due to April price increase. Which they  did, but also oprater said she could reduce my package futher, yes another 2 year contract  but a reduction of £10 pound a month wiping out a price increases altogether. And that new 2 year term was only actually adding a month  in reality to my minimum term. So if you have got Sky sports on monthly contract and  should have no problem getting it with discounts with. a minimum term adding it to your package with your present minimum term of  present items  could stay with present ending date but you Sky sports will of cause end later. My package is like that with some items ending later this year and other not ending till February 2028

Hi @Becmintia.31   Unfortunately Sky are wise to that, the "a while later" would have to be over a year plus, to be treated as a new customer. Plus you would lose all your recordings, the boxes would have to be returned and any Mini boxes would require another £50 admin fee. VIP status (if it matters) would be reset to zero.
