Hello,
My Sky TV has been going off for days now.
I would get only about one hour of tv before it goes off and starts saying - "there is a problem with your satellite".
I am also unable to record any tv as well, its a nightmare.

Sky don't offer support for Sky+ any more as the system is now obsolete. You could enquire about an upgrade to Sky Q, whereupon an engineer would visit you and install a new LNB on your satellite dish and check all cabling. This would require a new contract to be agreed upon.
If you'd rather stick with Sky+ then you'll need to contact an independent local satellite installer to come and check your dish & cabling.

Sorry, my box is Sky Q not Sky +.
Does that make a difference?

Yes. Sky Q is supported by Sky. Follow the troubleshooting here and if you are still having issues there will be a phone number to call at the end:
