Failing SkyQ box

Watching YouTube the picture and sound suddenly cut off and the box with green light and blue rotating indicator fails to respond to remote. Unplugging the box restores everything but it will fail again after ten minutes or so. This pattern continues until I give up trying.

According to Sky it's fixed, so I suggest trying to reboot again this morning and hopefully your box should remain operating.

SkyQ mini boxes can’t connect to main box

Having an issue where at least once a day, I have to unplug and plug back in my sky Q mini boxes, as they say they can't connect to the main sky Q box. I have a sky booster which is connected but the issue still happens. the boxes are all over 2 years old.

 

ive tried restarting the main box but still having issues. Any help on fixing this would be greatly appreciated

@Sand19 therexwas a mjor outage on Sky Q last night which has now been fixed but you may need to rdboot your box by switching off the power for 30nseconds. If howver thst isnt your problem post again.

My Sky Q box switches off after about 15 minutes of watching a recorded program..

The only way to get it running is switch off the box, switch on , and the let it reboot. This is really irritating.

By the way, is it possible to contact Sky for an eingineer vist to resolve this and an occasional los of signal caused by a poor positioning of my Skydish ?

No. It's in for a period of time say 10 minutes then goes off. The remote won't turn it back on. The only way to turn it back on is to take out the plug. Put it back in and it goes back in. But then it turns off again around 10 minutes later

Aha,  was just about to post a thread about this after speaking with Netflix.  

 

Wasn't sure if it was Netflix or Sky Q as I usually watch Netflix through Sky Q. Was watching the third episode of a new series on Netflix via Q last night, and three times while watching the programme just stopped leaving a blank screen Q box off but the blue light spinning as if it was recording. I rebooted Sky Q but it kept happening. I updated the Sky Q software, but issue happened again. I then managed to watch the remainder of the programme without issue on Netflix app on my TV. But I then (as a test) returned to Netflix via Q and watched an episode of something else later and no issues occurred at all plus watching other stuff on Sky Q seemed fine so was a tad baffled as it seemed to only happen when I watched this particular new series on Netflix via Q?  No error messages just blank unresponsive screen which required unplugging and rebooting from the mains plug.

I did the reboot around 09:45 and do far it's holding both picture and sound 🤞

I had this last night, at about 10:00pm. I was watchig a recording and then the screen went blank and the Sky Q box was frozen, and not responding to the remote handset. I had to unplug the box from the mains, about 5 times before I gave up. It's a relief this morning to know that it was a technical issue with Sky, and not my box. Thanks for posting this - I thought it was just me that had the problem!

everyone remember to physically turn on your Sky Q box after rebooting - then it should work .

Yes.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers
