Sky q box freezing

My sky q box started freezing last night every 20 minutes or so. Each time it stopped the connection to the tv dropped as the box stopped sending any output. No buttons worked on the box or remote. The only way to get it to restart was to turn it off remove the power cable and restart the box. This happened about 4 times. I restarted before bedtime but it was frozen again this morning. Again removing power was the only way to get it to restart. When I have checked the box through the sky app, it says it is all ok. Do I just need a new box?

hi @mctoodles  as you will see it has been a major problem across many SKY Q boxes - thus not just your box

Outage in Ireland

Looks like it's not resolved in Ireland, I have the Technician booked for Monday, should I cancel or will you be addressing this?

Re: Sky q switches off - 15/05

You have no choice but to unplug the box from the mains, leave off for 30 seconds, and then plug back in. It should then boot as normal. Hopefully the fix Sky have rolled out will prevent it recurring.

Interestingly the software version of my box is now later (Q310) than the stated version on their website (Q300) so they've either rolled back the update or issued a new one.
