Sky q remote will not set up

Hello 

Damaged sky q remote so bought a new one 

I have tried and tried all instructions given more than a few times and cannot get remote to work 

When I press 1 - 3 together the remote flashes but does nothing else does not bring page up to set up 

I have done the 7 - 9 to disconnect and then the 1-3 to set up nothing 

What am I doing wrong 

Please help

Hello 

Thank you so much it's working 

Obviously something was in the way 

I went and stood in front of the box and started doing it's thing straight away

Lucky someone knows what they are doing x

@Karenlulu Have you tried rebooting your main Q box ie
putting your box into Standby then switching it off at the wall for 30 seconds
switch it back on then follow the on screen instructions

then

Try resetting your remote.
Press the buttons 7 & 9 together on the remote until it’s led flashes four times.
Then press 1 & 3 together until the led flashes twice then follow onscreen instructions to repair the remote.

Thank you for your reply 

I have reset the box I have done all the sequences on the emote I have put the box on standby 

But the remote does all the lighting up but will not bring the Page up on screen for me to set up the new remote I am completely at a loss

Hi @Karenlulu 

If the remote led flashes 4 times when you press and hold 7 & 9 together then it doesn't look like it is faulty.

When you press 1 & 3 together to re pair the remote,  the Q box needs to on with green led and you must be pointing the remote directly to the Q box.

hi @Karenlulu 

 

Could there be anything blocking the signal from the remote to your box - until it is paired it needs direct line of sight as it works in infrared
