Sky q remote controls another TV.

I have just put a Samsung TV in another room and my Sky q remote in the next room ( also a Samsung} switches on and off when I use controller. I even set up controller using the exact model number.
How can I stop this remote controlling another TV.

hi @Doddsy

Are you using a SKY mini box or are you using an HDMI splitter  ?

hi @Doddsy

In which case I am not sure - the remotes only use IR to control the TV (other when powering on the SKY Q box & using the HDMI control to switch on the TV)

Is the other TV in line of sight from where you are using the remote ?

Hi. The other TV is  close,  separate room but no wall between.

hi @Doddsy

In which case the other TV seems to be able to receive the remote signal - this can be more likely if your walls might reflect the signal easily.

If they are both the same make of TV this can happen (a problem with all IR remotes)

I am not aware of anyway to change TV remote codes.

I have a panasonic dvd/HDD freeview  &  separate blu-ray player that allow me to change code  to prevent conflict but, as I say, I am not aware of any TVs that have this

You could possibly locate the IR sensor on the TV and see if you could shield it slightly with a peice of card  or something.
