Sky q prices

My current sky deal is up for renewal in a month or two.

i understand that my price will increase as the discounts i have currently end.

I can see what the discounts are, it is on my bill, are there any other reasons why the prices should go up.

If I just ignore the discounts and pay the un discounted rate, is that what I would pay?

Yes that would seem likely.

You could try contacting Sky directly to see if you can negotiate a new deal

Sky would want to tie us in for 24 months. Would need a decent discount to make that worthwhile.

Hi @Lucyliu2   Decent discounts are hard to come by now-a-days. If you get offered something that you can live with you need to take it straight away. Next call will probably be higher.

I don't really consider this as a discount. It is a "payment" to us for agreeing to sign up for 24 months.

it is not a something for nothing discount, sky want to tie you into a long contract, given the flux in the market.

However I am finding it difficult to find out what the real cost for rolling contract woukl be.

If it is not too much I would prefer the flexibility.

@Lucyliu2  There isn't a real rolling contract price with Q has you can only pay the undiscounted price once the minimum term ends

My minimum term is over, iI can continue on a month by month basis paying "list" price.

As far as I can see the service continues as long as I keep paying.
So I am trading a loss of flexibility against a discount. As I said earlier, the discount would need to be quite substantial.

You question was answered (to a decent level of confidence) in the first reply.

Discounts are very often associated with a "give" on the other side like a commitment period. That doesn't turn them into a payment.

I've never bothered with lockin discounts for exactly the reasons you say. For many years. Could have saved myself a lot of cash probably. Sky aren't pushing Q hard so you aren't likely to get owt significant. They'd offer a bigger carrot for a Stream 2 year commit I suspect.

The 'real cost' is exactly what it says on your account, all base prices are listed there. You would of course still be subject to the April price rises but would only be under a 31 day notice period.
