Sky q mini box remote still not working

My skyq remote is still not working on my mini box, the screen is stuck in home screen mode and I can't move on. I have tried using the 7/9 and then1/3 buttons to reset, the remote flashes as it should but the screen doesn't change, it seems the remote is sending out the signal but the box isn't receiving it. Any suggestions?
