My sky w box has started to record programs twice

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreThis happens quite often where a programme is on at (for example) 0200 and then later in the week at (for example) 2100. It's a pain. I tend to watch the first one then as long as that was okay just delete the copy of the same episode.

It is not BBC programmes is it? It is common for two programmes to series linked on two BBC channels, like BBC 1 and BBC 1 Scotland. The solution is to remove the wrong one from the scheduled recordings.

All driven by the metadata supplied by the broadcaster.
I often get two recordings (one usually in the middle of the night) as the broadcaster has linked the programmes.
I guess it's better than not recording at all 😄

I've been seeing the same in the last couple of months on Sky Max and now on Sky Witness , both duplicating recordings at 02:00 and 21:00. When it started on Max tried deleting both and just selecting one but it made no difference.

Posted by a Sky employeeHi all,
Thanks for reaching out regarding content being recorded twice. Can anyone having this issue share the example show this has most recently happened on and the date / time of the show it happened on?
Thanks,

The recording issue with Fire Country has been on going since the first episode if you record the 9pm episode- it will always set a timer for the weekend repeat and not the brand new episode the following Wednesday. I even emailed the Sky Viewers email to report this issue however because the issue didnt affect their box, apart from providing a phone number for the tech department, they werent interested. However if you set for the 2am Wednesday morning recording, it doesnt set a timer for the 9pm showing later and sets for the correct one the following week.
i do have the above mentioned issue with the 2am Sunday morning recording for SWAT on Sky Max in that it always sets a timer to record the 9pm Sunday showing instead of the following 2am next Sunday recording and also, of you just set it for the 9pm recording, it sets the timer for the following 2am recording instead. Has done this from the very first episode of this series.
The 8pm onwards showings of the Chicago series on Sky Witness on Friday evenings will not pick up the next episodes at all no matter how many times i set the series links, however the 1am onwards earlier showings work fine. Probably a separate issue but mentioning it here too.
