Sky q box overheating

my sky q box is so hot it's melted a bit at the top. I feel like this is very dangerous and need to know how to order a replacement.

I've had the same box for years.

@Deeclark

You need to disconnect it asap and contact Sky. Their products team will probably want to examine the box.

Re: Sky q box overheating

Hi, my 5 day old Sky Q box is very hot to touch and it's the same whether or not it's on or in standby! I have placed a thermometer on the top exterior cover and it's reading 53°C

I had a sky+ hd box before this and it was never hot to the touch. I feel like it may be a potential fire risk! Can someone in sky please contact me please?

@FrankGold

Turn it off!

We didn't know you were in  the ROI. I don't believe their customer services work weekends. Sky Ireland is Monday to Friday only.

@FrankGold

If Sky Ireland haven't contacted you yet call them

If you already have a Sky Mobile or a Sky Talk landline call free by dialling 150, otherwise you can use:
https://www.sky.com/help/home
ROI: change the flag in the bottom right corner of the link to the ROI flag then scroll down and click on ‘Need more help’ and it provides a 0818 number.
(The forum doesn’t allow us to type the numbers in full).

Similar to calling a lot of large companies the start will be an automated response which may try to send you back to the forum.
