Sky q box and 2nd box

I received an email to upgrade to a sky q box. Please can you tell me what will be different having the sky q box. I would also like to know if I can keep my original box for upstairs.

Essentially, no.  Once Q is in place the Sky+ subscription ends, and Sky no longer fits hybrid LNBs to permit Sky+ hardware to receive free to air satellite service.  Playback of Recordings and online use also ceases.
