Our sky mini box goes off a couple of time a day and then resets itself.
I thought it was a broadband issue so Virgin came out and put us a booster in.
However, it still does it.
The main box is fine and our broadband speed is 500meg.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreThe mini connects to the main box using it's own network. Nothing to do with Virgin.
It's possible the Virgin network is interferring with that Sky mesh - ensure the Virgin 5GHz channel is as far from 36 as possible.

Hi @John+Bigg
Afraid a Virgin WiFi booster will not help connection of a Q mini.
If using WiFi mins will only connect to WiFi generated by Q devices. (So that's a Sky Router, the main Q box, a Q WiFi booster or a previously connected mini).
If the Mini is having difficulties connecting to the Q main box WiFi then you need a Q WiFii booster positioned midway between the main Q box and the mini.

Hi all,
my sky mini box continually losses connection with my sky q box and this is after having the set up for 4 years but it's only just started 4 months ago, broadband is the same, the sky q box is in the same place, sky mini box in the same place, no new devices pinching the WiFi, seen so many people having the same problem recently, does anyone think the mini box or q box need replacing. If it needed a booster it would of needed one 4 years ago not just in the last 4 months 🤷🏼♂️

I had the same issues with Wi-fi connection to the minibox. It kept reporting no network connection even on bedroom away from the main Q box.
I had similar issues with various other devices. In my case, I knew it was because the connection was over Wi-fi, which I hate and distrust as it is so unreliable, I've had problems wwith Sky (including the main box, even though it is less than 3 metres away from the router), Virgin Tivo, a Ring doorbell, and numerous IP cameras.
I gave up and hardwired them all. That fixed all the issues completely.
I realise this might not be suitable for you, but it is worth considering. You can get some decent flat Ethernet cables which are very easy to lay indoors.
