Sky mini box problem

2 of my mini boxes have just switched off. No red light or green light. If unplugged the red light on front comes on for 8 seconds and then goes off . I know power is ok as a red light is on the back of the box. This will be the 4th and 5 time this has happened . Every time I ring they seem to know that it's a replacement needed. If these are so bad it's about time they were free.
