That isn't the only advert though which is part of the problem. A number of different advents have been referenced in this thread as a potential trigger point.

This worked for me!  Appriciate the advice and help (sadly lacking from Sky themselves)

As a bonus, if I knew this option was auto selected I would've 100% switched it off anyway lol (targetted ads and cookies etc are the work of the devil)

Yes.  Mine is doing the same.  LNER advert comes on, stops at logo and Q box crashes, everything just goes to a blue screen.  Happened twice tonight.  Had to switch everything off for 10 senconds then reset box.  What is causing it?

Sky doesn't know and they are not offering any solutions either. Very disappointing

@Bilbobaggin You can try to work-around this by turning off AdSmart. No-one with it off has reported crashing when viewing adverts, most likely since in that case the box is displaying the broadcast uninterrupted, not replaying adverts from the hard disc and switching around.

* Go to https://www.sky.com/mydetails/data-and-personalisation
* Scroll down to "Tailored TV Advertising"
* Turn it OFF
* Allow some hours/days for it to take affect
* This is a work-around, not a "fix"
