Sky+ box problems

We are having a few issues with our Sky+ box. Sometimes it turns itself off and then shows just the Freeview screen on tv. This happens a lot and is time consuming as well as annoying. 
The voice remote isn't working although we have changed our remote controller twice thinking it was the problem. We go through the procedure of linking the remote to the tv but the voice remote part worked once and now has stopped. 
The volume is inconsistent. 
My partner swears we need a new Sky+ box.

any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Are you sure you have Sky+? It's an obsolete service which Sky no longer support.

Sky+ boxes don't have voice control, so we have to presume you have Sky Q.
