Hi please advise! Sky box is seriously overheating, should I switch it off entirely? Do we need a replacement?

Re: Sky box overheating
You should be able to rest the palm of your hand down on the top of the box. Can you do that?
If not I suggest you unplug it straight away.

Re: Sky box overheating
I can but it's very hot? I have a suspicion it was running all the while when mum was away and the tbf monitor was off? Would that cause overheating?

Re: Sky box overheating
Sky Q boxes are designed to run quite warm ~ so long as it's in a well ventilated position.
To see if they can help you further I’ve escalated your post to Sky and their Community Messaging Team should make contact with you later.
Look out for a post on this thread from one of the team inviting you to a private chat and then you should see a blue/red speech bubble at the bottom of your forum page. You’ll have 48 hours to click on it and start the private chat or it will close automatically. If you fail to respond to a chat reply within 48 hours the chat will again close down automatically even if your issue hasn’t been resolved. Replies from Sky aren’t instant so you’ll need to check the chat thread periodically.
