Sky box internet connection problems

I have a sky q box. My broadband is not from sky, the connection has worked fine for years but nor its dropping out allthe time and I am have to re connect constantly it's really annoying

For last two days, Sky Q box keeps dropping internet connection which is via a BT fibre connection which has been stable for years. I reconnect manually typing in my WiFi password as the WPS option seems to be reserved for Sky broadband customers ( was previously available to others) . Connection stays up for maybe a minute then drops and I have to reconnect manually again.  At present SkyQ box is not connected and of course the Sky Q mini is unavailable. Nothing has changed at my end , what have Sky done to break things now?

Problem seems to be resolved, hopefully. I  got a clue as to what problem was by connecting to a neighbors WiFi without issue. I was able to keep connection alive and do downloads without issue. Reconnecting back to my BT WiFi gave about a minute of connectivity then failure. In desperation I switched off everything including the SkyQ Mini and reconnected the main box once again. The main box then remained connected for longer than a minute. I then restarted the Sky Q mini box and reset the WiFi connection on that via the WPS on the Sky box. All reconnected o.k for now, but still uncertain what caused the original outage. 

Posting  this just in case someone hits the same issue. I guess turning it all off and turning it all on still works. 🙂
