Sky UHD/HDR on mini boxes

Why can we watch HDR for the likes of Netflix and Prime on TV apps but Sky can't even get this through their own mini boxes?

Since using HDR tv's it really does show again why Sky are falling behind everyone else. Not only that, but on tbr SKY Q box, their own HDR/UHD picture quality is nowhere near as good as say, Paramount Plus on the TV app.

Hi @Limpit86   Sky Q was launched in 2016 so probably started development in 2014 ish. Did you have a HDR TV in 2014? Sky Q is now approaching end of life which is why Sky is pushing Glass and Stream which have what you are looking for.

The silicon in any reasonable recent television set will hopefully be considerably better than that specified in what's now a rather elderly set top box (last revised in 2019) built to a much lower budget.

As @MightyQuinn indicates, Q is no longer the system Sky promotes: that would now be Sky Stream.
