hi @DerekMcAuley

No there is no automatic upgrade

Can I just check that you have a 1TB non UHD box :

To check

Home - Settings - System Info - Hardware Version

If it is 32Cxxx then you have an older 1TB non-UHD Box which does indeed only support 1 active mini
If it is 32B2xxx then you have a UHD HDR 1TB or 2TB Box which supprts 2 active minis

An upgrade to the main box is an additional Fee

BTW The charge for a mini is an admin fee not a purchase price as they always remain the property of KSY

No: there isn't any automatic link there at all.

Note that the UHD/HDR 1TB (from November 2019 onwards) can have two Mini boxes in use at once: it's the 2016-2019 non-UHD 1TB which cannot.

Thank You @nigea99 i checked that the box i have is a 32Cxxx version which means its an older box. How do i go about ordering a new 2tb box as i do not see that option on the store?

@DerekMcAuley

No problem: just note there may or may not actually be any 'new' 2TB boxes, because that UHD/HDR 1TB I mentioned has been the default hardware since November 2019.

You'd need to contact Sky either way, but a 2TB is likely to be a reconditioned unit.  What you don't want is the original v1 2TB (2016) because that's UHD but not HDR.

hi @DerekMcAuley

I see @TimmyBGood  has been able to answer before I could - as he says, unfortunately you will need to call as there are not any online options currently

As @TimmyBGood make sure that they do specify an HDR box - if you are getting an upgarde to 1TB it will be but as @TimmyBGood  says there is a non HDR 2TB version that I don't think you should accept (unless they offer it for free)
