I have Sky Q and have recently renewed my contract. During the renewal I was offered WiFi Max as an upgrade but I have since read posts that they are not compatible. I have received my new hub and everything is connected and seems to be working fine. Can anyone confirm if they are compatible?

@Shanzo1 Do you only have a main Q box if so that should be fine
it's multiscreen that causes the problems so unless i am wrong then if you have multiscreen the the Sky Max router causes problems

Sky won't offer Max to addresses where there's a Q Multiscreen subscription with Mini boxes or Q boosters loaned to solve television issues.

I'm confused about your last comment. I have Sky Q and a mini box and when I check for broadband upgrades, MySky tells me I'm on the fastest speed available for my adress (superfast), but will offer me the new WIFI max modem upgrade.
Surely they most know I have a minibox. So why offer me wifi max of they are incompatible 🤷♂️

As far as we're away that would be an error, but perhaps the situation has changed: when Max was launched it wasn't offered to Q households at all.

Assuming that the Max router has ditched the legacy mesh tech from Q. In that case would likely work but essentially treat the router as "non sky" since there is no mesh, possibly?

I contacted Sky yesterday with a view to ordering WiFi Max. Sky customer services informed me that because I have Sky Q and 1x mini box, WiFi Max we not compatible. He as very helpful and raised an internal ticket with engineering. Today he contacted me to say that the engineer had confirmed that WiFi Mac was not compatible.

I'm using Sky WIFI Max with Sky Q. Q box connected by WiFi using sky broadband setting, but I think it only connects on 2.4Ghz. Mini box also connected via wps to Q box with same router SSID.

@mitchell_paul_5 you should be able to get the max router with 1 mini box but if you have 2 or more there is still a problem so Sky are not providing the max router at the moment to anyone that has 2 or more mini boxes.
The advisors you spoke to may be confused between the 1 and 2 minis

@Laing1 , thank you for the confirmation.
Is it possible a Sky employee can confirm the same?
I guess I could call Sky again, but the last call lasted over an hour. If I can't get it ressolved I will move to an alternative Broadband provider as this Sky Hub I currently have is not great.

I have 2 mini boxes Does anyone know if the main q box and 1 of the minis have wired connections that the problem is overcome?
