Sky Q versus Sky+ HD

Having had to migrate from Sky+ HD to Sky Q, I have to say how disappointed I am with its reduced functions!
I include the remote control in that as well! In my opinion, Sky Q is without doubt an inferior product compared to its predecessor, with fewer options and fewer useful features! Even the remote control is a backward step: No anti-slip back, inergonomic in design with smaller fiddly buttons and user unfriendly compared with the original.

How to take a great design and ruin it in one fell swoop! Tick!

Just my opinions, but not really an 'upgrade' in many ways in my view...

Not happy...😩

Fair comment @Mike4444 having had Sky Q since 2016 and Sky+ HD box from 2005.

I was glad to get rid of the outdated Sky+HD box when Sky Q came along.

The Sky Q box has the features I want and more besides but that's my opinion each too their own I guess

SKy Q can be quite a shock for people moving from SKY HD & you are right that some features have never been implemented on SKY Q.

The remote does seem designed by those who are not really in-tune with the diverse users needs and more in line with design aesthetics than practicality - especially the slippiness

I do highlight some of the differences  in some notes I have made for people considering switching from SKY +/HD to SKY Q    SKY +/HD to SKY Q

which are obviously too late once customers have switched

Whilst some features are not implemented there are other features some of which I take for granted after 7+ years - probably one of the most useful (as mentioned in my notes) is Voice control

I particularly like the live mini preview when you bring up the status bar (I use this a lot to watch something else during adverts to see when my programme is back)

I should also point out there are still a few bugs which we have to accept will never be fixed - my main bugbear is the quite unreliable 'Continue' section within recordings which can often point to the wrong episode - we advise people to use this section with great caution (similarly take great care with the buttons above the recordings thumbnails - again I advise scrolling dwon to the thumbnail or use the buttons below)

I think you will get used to most of Q even if you miss some features not implemented
