My sky q box has started connecting to a Bluetooth speaker several rooms away from the box, with no warning. The TV its connected to is still playing the sound as usual, but now this speaker is also playing the sound. The speaker has never been paired to the sky box and we have had both speaker and sky box for years and it's only just started happening. I've seen comments about resetting in a hidden menu, which I don't want to do because of everything else it will reset, just want it to stop playing through the Bluetooth speaker. Can anyone help?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreThis sounds like your TV is connected to your bluetooth speaker.
Check your TV settings and remove the bluetooth speaker device form there.
The Sky Q box will only allow you to play music via bluetooth from a device like phone/tablet to your Sky Q box.
The Sky Q boxes do not provide any bluetooth connected sound originating from the Sky Q box itself to your bluetooth speaker.
Sky Q has never had this capability as described above..

@lettice Thank you. Your right, it was the TV connected but only pushing sound to the speaker randomly, not the sky box as you advised.
thank you for the brilliant advice and tech info. It's really appreciated
