Sky Q remote pairing to TV

HI all,

I've had a replacement remote delivered but, I can't pair it with my TV for some reason although it pairs with the soundbar. Strange thing is the original remote operated both the TV & soundbar, any one have any suggestions as to how I can sort it.

When I tried altering the volume, as instructed, it didn't change and I got the message that the tv wasn't compatible. Very strange because the remote that I'm replacing operated both the tv and sound bar.

hi @Graham+Here 

The remote itself can only control one device directly.

If you are setting it to control the soundbar then it will not control the TV volume.

The most likely reason that your old remote controlled both was that it was  set to control the TV  & then the TV used HDMI CEC control to control the soundbar.

If you want it to control both then go through the re-pair and do so with the TV only & do not proceed to the Soundbar pairing & then make sure that HDMI CEC control is set on both your TV & Soundbar  &  when wanting to control the soundbar volume ensure the TV sound is set to the Soundbar (on my Pansonic TV it is called Home Cinema) in the TV's menu 

(You may need to reset the remote fully to do this - Press & hold 6 & 9 until the red led above the SKY logo button flashes 4 times)
