Sky Q or streaming?

My partner and I previously lived in separate houses, both with Sky Q which we were very happy with. We're now moving in together into a new build house. We've been trying without much success recently to get through to someone at Sky to discuss getting the new Sky setup for the new house. It's been an absolute nightmare! I finally managed to talk to someone in (I think) India on Saturday, and he kept me on the phone for TWO HOURS! I could not follow a lot of what he was saying, so just said 'yes' a lot to try and expedite the process and get it done and dusted. I seem to have successfully arranged for our new broadband to be installed. However, I'm not at all sure about the TV side of things. Can anyone help please?

We were wondering whether we should now opt for streaming rather than Sky Q (mainly because the Sky website doesn't mention Sky Q any more, suggesting that it may be becoming obsolete?), but the chap said that he could not discuss the option of streaming with me - if I wanted to do that I would have to call again and talk to someone else. I therefore felt pressurised into opting to continue with Sky Q. Have I made a mistake, and if so, can I change my mind? If someone could please explain the difference between streaming and Sky Q, it would be greatly appreciated.

Sky Q is still a available however in your circumstances one of you needs to cancel there Sky Q TV subscription (if Sky will allow it) and the other arrange a 'Home Move' through Sky.

Re: Sky Q or streaming?

I did cancel my subscription, because I moved out of my old house more than a month ago. We intended that my partner would be responsible for procuring the new services, but he was unable to do so as he was completely bamboozled by the system for doing so. He did get through to India the other day, but the format of the call was so bizarre, he could not continue with it and hung up.

I usually do things such as this online, but the system was unable to cope with my circumstances of being 'between homes'.

Re: Sky Q or streaming?

He already did that, but was unable to get the services started up again for the new house. He's 70, partially deaf and not very tech-savvy.
