Sky Q mini box, remote not resetting

Hi. Remote stopped working so I changed the batteries. On putting new batteries in the red LED lit up for a few seconds but still didn't control the box. (the LED lights up if i remove and reinsert the batteries).

 

I have subsequently tried holding 7&9 but this has no effect on the box and the LED does not flash on the remote. I have also reset the box and cleaned the battery connections on the remote.

 

Any advice other than 'buy a new remote'?

Please try the below and see how you get on

 

Simultaneously press and hold buttons 7 and 9 until the LED flashes four times. Ensure you're pointing the remote at the Q box, then press buttons 1 and 3 together. Hold them until the remote LED flashes twice. Follow the on-screen instructions to re-pair the remote to the Q box

Thanks, but as I said, the light doesn't flash when I hold 7&9. Absolutely no response at all.

@Tommacdonald1 when you say you reset the box did you boot your main Q box ie
putting your box into Standby then switching it off at the wall for 30 seconds
switch it back on then follow the on screen instructions

I'm in the same predicament and have reset the mini box but cannot get any response from the remote 🤷🏼‍♀️

Hi @Avpn45 @Tommacdonald1 

If the remote Led is not flashing when you press and hold 7 & 9 then it is faulty.

Check the following link and it will lead to a form for a replacement remote.

In the meantime if you have an Apple device with Sky Go you can set up a virtual remote to control your Q boxes.
