Sky Q hard drive crashed

I've had to reset my Sky Q hard drive twice in the last 3 months. My concern is that it will just continue until it becomes inoperable. In addition, I've had to reset the WiFi connection to the Sky Q box several times in the last year. I live in a rural village, so no Sky broadband to speak of. I am now on GIGACLEAR, so starting to think that Sky does not like third party broadband.

Re: Sky Q hard drive crashed

I've contacted Sky and will be changing from Sky Q to the Sky streaming service with Sky Glass Air. The main issue is that Sky Q works perfectly with Sky Broadband and I have Gigaclear. Hopefully, this will resolve both my issues.

Try following this link. It should lead to a replacement box if needed https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-q-hard-drive-errors

If you do need a new box remember to remove the viewing card from the faulty box.

Thanks for the suggestion, however, that link does not help as I have been through the "fix" process that Sky suggested (twice), so it is currently working and the online check that Sky does, reports that it is fine. I need to speak to them, but unfortunately, the number I found on their website does not get me through to a person.

To call Sky dial 150 (free) from either a Sky Talk landline or a Sky mobile. Alternatively use this link…
https://www.sky.com/help/home
UK customers: Scroll down and click on ‘Need more help’ leading to a number starting 0333.
ROI customers: change the flag in the bottom right corner of the link to the ROI flag then scroll down and click on ‘Need more help’ to see a dedicated ROI number. (Customer Services in the ROI are not open at weekends).

The forum filters don’t allow the posting of full phone numbers on here.

Calls to Sky will initially be automated which may try to send you here to the forum, offer you online help or offer to send you a text. Stay on the line as long as possible and saying nothing when asked the reason for the call sometimes helps being put in the queue for an agent.

When it does become inoperable or most likely works but refuses to record anything, replace it then. It only takes 24 hours.
