I am confused - it looks as if my whole post has been moved and combined with another similar post - mentioning DNS being changed ?

Come on - how am I supposed to change my DNS and why ?

There are detailed explanations throughout this thread, which your post has been merged into, about how to do it.

why - because TalkTalk's DNS is messing up your Sky downloads. You only have to change it on the Sky box.

No it's TalkTalk's fault, not Sky's. They can work behind the scenes to get it resolved but they can't just send out an update.

Don't worry about messing this up, it's an easy, non-destructive change you can modify again as many times as you need to. See the other thread for step by step instructions.

I thought I'd come here and found the solution to my problem but even after changing the eero dns (I did 1.0.0.1 and 8.8.8.8) and having the dns on the sky box set to the automatic one and then also changing to 1.0.0.1 my downloads are still not moving off 0%.

Have fully powered down the sky q and obvs the network restarted after the change

I've no queued downloads and have deleted everything from the deleted folder but still no joy.

anyone have any ideas on what else I can try ??

Has that 1.0.0.1 on the Q box stuck? Does it still say that?

if so, might be a different issue. Are you with TalkTalk?

It did yeah ... I've since changed it back to the 192 address it was on before 

yeah talktalk 900 with eero pro 6's

as mentioned by other people the likes of iPlayer work on the box so does seem like it's summet to do with this dns issue

Tried turning off that "advanced security" option mentioned in this thread?

Yeah had to do that to be able to customise the dns in the eero app

I'll keep trying to see if I can get lucky with a setting and it kicks in

It's working !!

changed the secondary to 1.1.1.1 but also then left off the advanced security after Chodleys reply so will try turning that back on after this download has finished and see if it was the secondary or the security blocks

@Wibbly-Woo The other one that I replied to you in that is discussing the general download issue (oh it's this thread, it got merged sorry, the way the forum titles its notifications ignores that so it looked like we were still talking in "flipping bangers"!)

but now you are there - change that to 1.1.1.1 and save / confirm it

is that on your Q box or router?

if on the Q box, apparently you need to power cycle it at the wall for that to take effect.
