Re: Sky Q box neds Router/Booster

Excuse my ignorance but I have been with Sky for a long time over 20 years. I have had sky for as long as it has been, I have now received a new sky Q box which when connected will only transmit to the TV that it is connected with. I have a computer upstairs in the rear bedroom which does not conect to, so I have replaced it with my oldbox and it works, I have even bought a new TV to help the change over.the reception works perfectly with the old box but will not with the new box which ofcourse is not connected to  the ariel. Once I change the new box for the old box it works perfectly well ,being connected to the outside ariel. So, if I cannot connect my new TV to my desktop and receive transmission on both sets the new box is useless  and trying to explain my position to a computer instead of a living being renders the new box useless and when mopre progress is made, getting rid of outside reception  my viewing days will be numbered.

OK so it sounds very much like you've had HD replaced by Q. I don't really understand how this can have been done without an engineer visiting.

And you seem to have a 2nd HD box in the bedroom attached to either a terrestrial aeriel or a 2nd satellite feed, and it's now plugged into a monitor, not a TV,  via HDMI?

How is that computer connected to the internet? Might be able to use that connection to get the Q's mini box connected to the main one...
