Sky Q box is shutting down on start up

For a while now my box every time I turn it on before the picture reaches the tv the box shuts down and then is a pig to turn back on...? 
my tv remote has never been connected but when I turn the tv off at night the Q box shuts down at the same time...? Just seems peculiar
