Sky Q and Mini boxes - reliability
I've had sky Q for quite a while and we have found it to be excellent when it works, but mostly it doesn't and its getting worse - by that I mean the error frequency is high and the need to reboot something or other daily.
Occasionally the main Sky Q box says it can't connect to the broadband - turning it off and then on again fixes this every time. No other devices have network issues and the sky box is actually located underneath the router.
Just about every morning one of our 3 mini boxes will say Error code MR104 - "There has been a problem finding your Sky Q box on the network". Mostly rebooting the mini box fixes this, but its every single day. Often none of them seem to work around 6am and they suddenly report this error even though they were working; we just get a blue error screen.
Fairly frequently they also report lack of IP address or sometimes no internet with broadband connection ok.
In a nutshell we have to go through the re-boot shenanigans every day with at least one of the mini boxes and/or the main box.
I tried physically wiring my main Sky Q box to the network with a cable, but then I found I had loopback errors on the network like it was connected twice and broadcasting received packets back to the network - so I soon gave up and went back to wi-fi.
Is the general consensus that this system is just unreliable or is it worth pursuing any diagnostics or anything else?
Yours, a very frustrated sky user.

Re: Sky Q and Mini boxes - reliability
We had this issue temporarily resolved by a chat session where we reset everything.
It has now returned and we are back to the same situation where we have to restart boxes daily.
Can I get more help?

@g0mgx
I’ve re-escalated your post to Sky and their Messaging Team should contact you later.
Look out for a post on this thread from one of the team inviting you to a private chat and then you should see a blue/red speech bubble at the bottom of your forum page. You’ll have just 48 hours to click on it and start the private chat or it will close automatically. If you fail to respond to a chat reply within 48 hours the chat will again close down automatically even if your issue hasn’t been resolved. Replies from Sky aren’t instant so you’ll need to check the chat thread periodically.
This link explains what happens.
