Can the engineer use the existing cabling when installing the new Sky Q dish? I don't want cables all over the living room, the current cables are hidden in the walls and under the floor

Providing there are 2 cables and they are good condition then, yes, they can, & usually do, re-use the existing cables
You may, also, wish to read some notes I have made for people considering switching from SKY +/HD to SKY Q
