Perfect will do that.
Just to make sure will do the following steps:
- Unplug the Mini via ethernet
- They have the Virgin Hub so I should plug the Q box into this
. Reset network on mini
Is that the steps?

Hi @SwedeBaggie
If you get the mini and the main Box on Ethernet follow the procedure to first carry out the network reset on the main Q box with the Ethernet connected
No WPS and select wired to non Sky router. When it connects switch of WiFi on main box.
Then Network reset on mini no WPS just wait. Again when it connects immediately switch off the WiFi in the mini.
I know you switched it off before but a Network reset switches it on again.
Fingers crossed you should have perfect connection on main box and that mini.

Thanks as always, doing these steps now

Mega annoyingly after doing these steps I still get exactly the same behavior. Have done this with both mini boxes. The internet speed is decent (300 Mb) and on mesh and get this speed pretty much over the whole house.
Is there anything else I can try ?

Just explain exactly how all the boxes are connected @SwedeBaggie

Of course - Main box into Virgin Hub with 2M Ethernet , mini box into Virgin Hub with 20M Ethernet (although distance is around 7M) .
Other mini box not connected to power.
i also turned off wifi completely on the Virgin Hb and powered off the mesh Network just to be certain .

Hi @SwedeBaggie
Have you checked in both boxes that the WiFi is still all off?
Also What mesh are you using and are any nodes near each box?

Using eero , boxes are close by to main box but not mini box.
WiFi is definitely off on the main and mini box

Hi @SwedeBaggie
If you had a node near to each box you could have tried Ethernet to nodes instead of router. They all must be Ethernet connected to same method. Ie all to nodes or all to router.
Edit
Doesn't your 20M Ethetnet allow you to connect you mini to a node?
Well I'm out of ideas. Ethernet connection to all Q boxes should be bulletproof.
Have you tried rebooting the Router before making the Connections?
Clutching at straws really I suppose.
All I can suggest is an Engineer visit to see if they can help. Some however don't like Ethernet.

Hi ,
I can easily move nodes around - will try that now just incase it makes a difference.
Will start by rebooting everything and seeing how we get on following your instructions
so unbelievably grateful that you took so much of your time

Hi @SwedeBaggie
Only sorry you are not up and running.
Assume your Ethernet cables are all fully wired?
Have you checked them in any way?
More straw clutching 🥺
Edit
Main box, you need wired to non Sky router in Network setup (although it's one of your nodes. Q box will only see an Ethernet connection.

Super strange now but maybe it's common .
when connecting to nodes - the main box works perfectly .
the mini box now says No Satellite signal - nothing seems to work but it's a different message . Not sure if this is positive / negative or totally indifferent
everything is wired, have connected to laptop and wired connection works as expected

Does the mini appear to connect OK in the Network reset @SwedeBaggie ?

It does yes - both have ticks next to them .
Feel defeat is close - do I call to try to schedule an engineer ?

hi @SwedeBaggie
When they have both been connected there's two things you can try.
First try rebooting the main Q box and then when this is completely back up and running reboot the mini.
To reboot press Standby on your Sky Q remote (if the box responds to the remote), and then switch off and unplug at the mains.
Wait at least 30 secs and then Plug back in and switch your Sky Q box back on at the mains.
Wait for the on screen instructions to disappear and the front led to turn Amber. Then wait for 30 secs before you press Home on your Sky Q remote or if this is not working press the standby button on the front of the Q box (Amber led)
note: some features may take up to 5 minutes to return.
Then reboot the mini as above.
Failing that it might be worth trying a Reset Settings in the main Q box hidden menu.
To enter hidden menu press Home and navigate down to Settings but do not select Settings.
With Settings highlighted press 0 0 1 Select.
Only Carry out the first Reset (Reset Settings) as the other two will wipe all recordings.
After the Reset you will have to re pair your Bluetooth remote If you use one.
If you cannot switch the Q box on with the remote after the Reset press the Standby button (Amber led) on the front of the box.
To re pair the remote press 1 & 3 together on the remote and follow onscreen instructions to re pair.
Make sure that you are pointing the remote at the Q box when you press 1 & 3 together.
