Sky Q Mini Box

Sky Q Mini Box is connected to main box and Internet. Live television is jumpy and stuttering with no sound. Some recordings are working others are not. Done the usual reboots of main box, Mini Box and Internet. Happening since about 9pm last night and was working fine earlier in evening.

Hi @GeneM18 

Have you carried out a Network reset on the mini box?
Network Reset found in mini Home - Settings - Setup - Network.
Highlight Status and then select Reset on the right hand side. Follow instructions to WPS with main Q box.
You will be asked to press the WPS button on the main Q box (not the mini as the Network reset will start the mini WPS automatically).

If you are on Sky Broadband and the Router is nearer to the mini than the main box then you can try pressing WPS on the router instead of the main Q box. If you do this make sure you press the Sky router WPS button and not the router reset button. If you have the new Sky Max router then you need to connect the WPS to the main Q box.

Yes ive done that, mini box is connected to the router. Live TV seems to be main problem. Was able to watch a couple recordings which played fine except for trying to fast forward or rewind. Very slow to play and exit recording too.

Who is your broadband supplier @GeneM18 ?

If Sky do you have a White or Black router?

Im not sure why one recording seemed to work well because now all of them are like the live tv, picture jumping no sound.

Mmmmm.

When I asked if you have carried out a Network reset you replied that you had and the mini is connected to the router @GeneM18 

However on 3rd party broadband it should be connected to the main Q box.

When I go to settings on my mini both Connection to Sky Q Box and Network Connection have ticks beside them as they normally should do. Cant understand what issue is and why it's happened all of a sudden

I've even reser the network again and the box has told me "your network set up looks good". Any previous issues I've had have all been with either internet or connecting to main box. This seems to be completely different

Yes main box has been working perfectly since this issue started. Live TV and Recordings have been playing with no issue with picture or sound

Sounds like a weak wifi signal between the mini and Q box. 5GHz wifi gets attenuated easily by walls and metal objects

Would there be a reason why this would happen all of a sudden as ive never had an issue like this before? Or how to fix it? If it is just poor signal even though all is connected? Thanks!

I've seen two very similar problems to me on here from 2024 but no one was able to answer then, so I dont know how those people got sorted or if they did.
