Sky Q Mini Box Bluetooth Remote signal week

I've tried hidding my Sky Q Mini Box behind the TV but the bluetooth signal is rubbish, you need to be within 1 meter of the box.

Is this normal, any ideas how to fix please.

Thanks

A television set is a sandwich of glass, plastic, alloy and live electrical components (including a transformer) : that's not ideal to get a signal through.

Sky Glass 55" (on ethernet) & two Stream Pucks (one ethernet / one WiFi)
BT Halo 3+ Ultrafast FTTP (500Mbs), BT Smart Hub 2

Hi @Wesley71   Can you check that it is properly paired to your box by trying some voice commands.

Hi @Wesley71

Best to get another Bluetooth remote (one with Voice control).

You can also pair your main Q remote to the the mini.  Of course if you do this it will no longer work with your main Q box.  However the mini remote which is infrared can be used with any box including the main box.   It will need line of sight of the main box and obviously will not have Voice control.

That would make a difference: Q remote handsets without Voice functionality are infrared only, and so line-of-sight only too.

Hi @Wesley71   Just to confirm (which is why I asked you to test voice commands) that your remote is not Bluetooth.  You need a voice command remote to use Bluetooth which will work with your Mini box behind your TV (and probably 20 metres away!).

Sky will probably send you one free, tick Voice Control not Working.
