I am trying to setup a third party learning remote control to work with my Sky Q and Sky Q mini boxes. The Phillips remote only uses infrared. I know the Sky Q standard remote can be switched from Bluetooth to infrared but I am keen to understand the specifics as I a, having some trouble.
So my questions are;
1) What are each of the following Sky Q remote control sequences doing;
a - Hold 1 and 3 (I think for 4 flashes)
b - Hold 4 and 6 (I think for 4 flashes)
c - Hold 7 and 9 for for flashes.
d - Are all of the above just setting features in the remote, or are they setting features in the Sky Q boxes.
2) Do the Sky Q boxes receive both infrared and Bluetooth singles, or do you switch the boxes to work in one mode or the other. e.g could I use my Sky Q remote in Bluetooth mode and my Phillips remote in infrared mode so that both work to the same Sky Q box.
3) Can the Sky Q and the mini box be set independently, or is setting one also setting the other.
4) If the Sky boxes are either set to Bluetooth or infrared both not both, then is there a information screen that will confirm which mode it is in.
Thanks
Vince

Hi @VinceK1
The 4 & 6 sets the remote to infrared so once you have set that your learning remote should be OK to learn.
The SKY Q boxes work off both Bluetooth and Infrared at the same time so can use as many IR remotes as you wish.
Once your remote has learnt you probably want to reset it and pair again in bluetooth mode so then use 7 &9 to fully reset then 1& 3 to re-pair.
Minis and mains use the same Infrared codes but each box pairs independently in bluetooth mode
BTW if you want 2 SKY remotes to work with the same box it is a bit of sequence to follow to both work with the TV so if that is needed ask

Hi, so according to the whatis said below Sky Q boxes and Mini Boxes perminantly receive both Bluetoot and IR. I am pointing a SkyHD remote directly at the front of a SkyQ 1TB Box but getting no responce. Is there a setting which i need to change in Settings please? (our Home Control system and Cinima relies on IR so in upgrading to SkyQ we need to be able to opperate using IR) Many thanks

It looks like SkyQ and Sky HD remotes use different IR codes.

as @SkyRich1 indicates SKY HD remotes use different codes to SKY Q so won't work.
The SKY Q sepecific remotes can work in bluettooh or IR mode (although need bluetooth for voice control)

Personally I have never seen any one mention codes for use with a Universal remote wchich I presume you are referring to.
If you (or family member) need a remote similar to the SKY HD remote then SKy do produce an Accessibility remote which I beleive you can get for free if registered with the Accessibility team - see
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/contacting-sky-accessibility
For the accessibility remote see :
