Sky Q Connection to 3rd Party Router/Non Sky Broadband with Ethernet
Hi,
I have a Sky Q Main box and 3 minis and non sky broadband. Currently everything connects wirelessly. Connection can sometimes be a bit patchy/downloads are slow on the Sky Q main box.
I have the option of running an Ethernet cable from my Sky Q main box to my router.
1. will this work and should I then turn off the 2.4ghz network on the main box?
2. One of my other minis could potentially be connected via Ethernet to the router is this possible? Whilst keeping the other 2 minis on a wifi connection? Should I turn of any wifi bands on this mini that would be connected via Ethernet?
3. Could I wire both the sky q main box and 1 of the minis to a switch and then wire this to my router?
thanks

I think the minis will have to all be wifi or all be ethernet for their internal mesh to behave itself.
but the first part should work.

My main box is connected via ethernet and I have two mini boxes, one wired and one wifi. I have sky broadband now, but when I initially set it up, it was was with BT, so it should work for you.

Should I turn off 2.4ghz on the main box if I connect it via ethernet?

I think so. Pretty sure the minis will only connect on 5GHz.
