Sky Q Box needs hard resetting daily

I need to do a full reset of my Sky Q Box every day as it keeps losing the picture completely, only for about a second, but that quickly becomes very annoying, anyone out there got a fix..?

hi @ScottPalmer111

First thing to check is your HDMI lead.  Make sure it is correctly seated both ends.   Try another if you have one.

What "full reset " are you doing?

Re: Sky Q Box needs hard resetting daily

Turning the box off at the plug for at least 30 seconds to make it do a full reset of the sky box

Hi @ScottPalmer111

Yeah....  that's just a reboot.

If you have checked the HDMI lead then try a Reset Settings in the Q box hidden menu.

To enter hidden menu press Home and navigate down to Settings but do not select Settings.
With Settings highlighted press 0 0 1 Select.
Only Carry out the first Reset (Reset Settings) as the other two will wipe all recordings.
After the Reset you will have to re pair your Bluetooth remote If you use one.
If you cannot switch the Q box on with the remote after the Reset press the Standby button (Amber led) on the front of the box.
To re pair the remote press 1 & 3 together on the remote and follow onscreen instructions to re pair.

Make sure that you are pointing the remote at the Q box when you press 1 & 3 together.

Resetting the settings will also reset:

Audio visual settings, such as picture resolution and HDMI control
Settings changed within the hidden engineer menu, include LNB type. If on a communal dish you need to reset the LNB to SCR in the hidden menu. After changing the LNB type you need to reboot the Q box.

Re: Sky Q Box needs hard resetting daily

I have exactly the same problem. My TV says "No signal" despite the Sky box being on. The only way to fix this each time is to unplug the Sky box, ie a hard reset.

Re: Sky Q Box needs hard resetting daily

As mentioned in my post just now I have this problem too. I could try the reset that old fella suggests but I'm not sure what he means by LNB. If I try the reset what could happen to my Sky box (and what does LNB mean)? Thank you.

Re: Sky router Box needs hard resetting daily

Since signing up to broadband with sky. I have to power off an back on my sky router box everyday. It looses connection usually between 9 am and 10am everyday. Once reset it works fine. It's just a daily occurrence which is annoying. I could be the result of the system being backed up daily by sky or it could be a glitch in the system is my assumption.

anyone else having to do this daily?
