Sky Mini not connecting/third party ISP
1) I can't get my Sky Mini to connect to the Sky Q box where I want to watch the Mini.
2)I can get the Sky Mini to connect flawlessly via the WPS buttons if I move it closer to the Sky Q box so its a signal issue (moving it permanently to be closer Main Q not an option as its the landing)! It's almost instantaneous.
3) Am not with Sky Broadband (rural and they can't provide the speed).
4) Sky Main box connected to dedicated 2.4 ghz Wi-Fi network Nokia Beacon 2 with 5 ghz turned off.
5) TV, Ipad and iphone all see th e Nokia Beacon 2.4ghz wireless where I want the mini to work (main bedroom). Sky Mini struggles to see it.
6) Stone built house and odd shape. .
Rang Sky Helpline today to request a Sky Q Booster since this is obviously a signal issue and was told that a Sky Q Booster won't work unless I have Sky Broadband which seems to be contrary to what I am reading on other posts.
Was the Helpline correct and if so how on earth do I connect the SkyMini?

@Lovelyday the helpline is wrong the booster will work
the Sky booster would sit halfway between you main box and mini box and wouldn't be connected to you non sky router as it would connect by wps to your main box then wps to your mini. I'd call sky back and make it plainly clear this is only for your mini to connect to your main box and don't mention anything about broadband
I may be a Sky Superuser but I am still just a Sky customer
Sky Q 2 TB (Silver)Box, 2 Mini boxes since June 2016, all connected by wifi
Sky Broadband Hub/SR203, Sky Ultrafast broadband
Ultimate on Demand, Q Experience/UHD, Sky Sports, Sky Cinema
LG 49SJ 810 V UHD TV, Google Pixel 7 Pro mobile

Thanks for your time, exactly what I thought I was very close to being 'unacceptably' direct with helpline but held tongue.
Have today ditched the idea of using wireless for Sky Q altogether and connected both main and mini via Sonos Ethernet ports. Seems to be working in that I've had a solid connection for 3 hours!
Have lost hours of time trying different connections combos. Sky should be back charged. Set up screen steers you to wireless/WPS, should contain options.
