Can anyone explain the cost of SkyHD and why it's still a thing? If I try to cancel this what channels would I get ? Currently on a sky signature deal but would I get every channel I normally get just not as clear viewing on tv? I'm finding sky prices very random at the moment and can't find anywhere a full breakdown of available packages to see what channels cost what etc.

I am not sure what package you are on but the HD subscription is on,y a very small cost of most peoples packages at £9 full cost with my package if I had it removed it would hardly be notice the amount I pay a month. However that up to you depending on the size of your tv the degradation of picture going down to sd can be drimatic on a large screen tv. I have 40inch tv and could not put up with sd quality. Why don't you before you make you final decision have a look at what sd quantity pictureif you have not already done so,look at what sd quality pictures look like on your tv and see if you would be happy with that quantity. you will find the in 800 numbers of your tv guide.

hi @Lucy168
If you cancel your Monthly Sky HD pack you will lose the HD version of the Sky Entertainment channels. SD versions will still be available.
Sky Signature includes BoxSets and Entertainment channels only in SD as standard.
Only free to air channels such as BBC, ITV etc are in HD. The Q HD pack is required for all other Sky Signature HD content, including Catch Up in HD, On Demand in HD and BoxSets in HD
If you do not have the Optional HD pack you need to change the Download to SD in All Formats (as HD is the default setting).
So that you do not need to do this every time it’s best to change your Download preference to SD in Home - Settings - Setup - Preferences.
This needs to be done on the main Q box.
Then if you want to download any HD content from free to air channels (BBCHD ,ITVHD etc) you can select HD in the All formats tab of the content . This will change the format for that particular download only but still leave your format to SD in preferences.

Hi @Lucy168 Quite simply, it allows some users to save some money by not subscribing to it. You don't lose any channels, but HD gives you a better picture. If a HD subscription wasn't a thing, then the price would go up for everyone!

Re: Sky HD pricing
Also worth noting that you would also lose access to any HD Recordings from subscription channels that you currently have stored on your box.
